I have owned this house since November,1999. I just put on a new roof. I replaced 25 year old shingles with green metal. Interesting coincidence.
The porch is now two rooms.
Miss Edna Carman was born here in 1910. She lived here her entire life. She passed away in 1995.
The big Norway Spruces are all gone. The driveway is now a loop . The small maple to the right of the house fell onto the porch 10 years ago. Small damage. I have not seen this picture before.
I wish Miss Carman was in the picture. I have never seen a picture of her.
According to a few people that knew her, she was about 4 feet tall.
The house was built around 1890. That is a guesstimate based on the nails used and the balloon frame.
The house was built by her grandfather, John Carman. His wife was Lydia.
His son, William(?) was Miss Carmans' father. Her mother, whose name escapes me at the moment, died when Edna was around a year old. She lived here with her father and grandparents .
