This was my great, great Aunt's house. In 1975 my dad tore down the long tobacco barn to have a house built for our family.

Is this Nellie Brelsford's house? Was she your great great aunt? I knew her! She was a kick! A good friend of my grandmother's.

Yes, it was Nellie’s house! We’re you part of the Eby family on Temple?

Yes! I think I have at least one picture of Nellie from my grandparents, Vern and Lucille Dull. My brother Ron probably remembers Nellie more than I do. Do you know my cousin, Becky Osswald, who lives in our old house?

Becky Osswald sounds familiar, is that her maiden name or married name? The area was a good place to grow up
I have Aunt Nellie’s photos, I’m sure I have photos of your grandparents as well

Nellie Brelsford was a good friend when I was growing up('63-'74). She would occasionally play her pump organ for us. I learned a lot of Dodson history from her. She told of her husband Aden working in Dodson, and talk about the mill, the depot, the Catholic church and much more. She let us store our picnic tables in her barn over the winters. I remember the horse stalls in the west(left) end of the barn. My older sister Marcia and I mowed her yard for a number of years, for $2.75 as I remember! We didn't have a TV, so if we had a school assignment to watch a program, she would let us watch it on hers. I still remember the colored film in front of her TV, to make it a 'colored TV'! I couldn't understand how she could bend at the hips, with her legs straight, while she was tending to her garden! Her mailbox and ours were next to each other, as the mailman went around 'the horseshoe' and didn't pass our house.

Doug, this is great! Now that you mention it, I think I also can remember Nellie tending her garden with straight legs and bent at the hips! So glad you have these memories of her and the place. Oh, and Karen, Becky's maiden name was Dull. Do you still live there in Dodson?

7430 Dodson Rd.

I do not live in Dodson anymore, but drive through often. Dull’s like the Dulls on 40? I detassled corn for Dulls many summers
I love these memories of Aunt Nellie
