I own this house now. This was my great grandparents, grandparents and mom's home and now I own it. It's been in our family for 150 years. The only barn that still stands is the big white one.

Hi there! It's fascinating to hear about your family's long history with the house! We're curious to know more about the area and the changes over the years. What kind of farming did your family do on the property? Also, since the photo was taken in 1973, have you noticed any significant changes to the surroundings or the house itself?

We still have the 40 ft pole barn and the house. When I bought it in 2012 from my parents, I decided to paint the house a light yellow and we had the local Amish pretty much gut and renovate all but the original floors and the woodwork. The floors are different and all of the rooms because back when the house was built they would just use the wood that they would find off of the land. I opened up the kitchen into the old summer kitchen to allow more space. There was a very small concrete pad off the back of the house towards the barn and we went over that with a deck and wrapped it around so it overlooks the pond. I also put in a nine hole disc golf course. I have been running it out occasionally on Airbnb and people love the history of the home and I love sharing it with people. It's a beautiful property and that house means the world to my family and me!
