Danbury Elementary School, Lakeside-Marblehead

Danbury Twp. High School, aka "Lakeside" High School. I think the class of '72 may have been the first to have Danbury on their class rings. The old high school sits to the back and left. The new high school, built for fall '66 sits low and to the front along SR 163. The elementary school is far right. Junior high students largely held classes in the old HS while most HS classes were in the newer addition, but there was a lot of mixing of grades 7-12 in this building. A new pool was also opened attached to the far back. The Chateau Drive-In's sign is barely visible across the street; the small visible building is Jim's Barber Shop. "Block or tapered?"

I did err. The building across from the school is not Jim's Barber Shop. I don't remember what it was, but other photos confirm to me that this is not Jim's, which is on the other side of the Chateau.

Graduated from LHS in 1956
