Ok, I have a connection to this property. Once my father rented this "garage" from Earl Miller who was my football coach at Frankfort High School back in the early 50s. Dad had a very lucrative garage business there and I remember once I was left to take care of it while my he was in town; and he didn't come back that day so I had to close up and I rode my bike home via Biers Run Road to where we lived at the corner of Old Rt 35 at the east side of Frankfort and Westfall Rd. Also, I used to drive my Dad's pick up truck from that garage to Anderson Station; before I had a drivers license! That's how I learned to drive; just hop in the 'ole pick up and drive around without any body with me! ;-)
This is George's Market in Pleasant Valley! Best little store in the county! Miss that place!!
When I lived there in the Valley in the 50- late 60's, it was called the 'Valley Grocery'...ran by McRoberts, and I believe later by Bob and Martha Tallman, who still live there on Zickafoose Lane. Very fond memories....
Thomas K Bales you are correct,it was owned by my great aunt and uncle Mac & Lillian McRoberts They were wonderful people they lived on Clinton Rd.Those were the days...
Not this particular property, but the house right behind it in the picture. It belonged to my Aunt and Uncle.Their last name was Kinnamon. When we visited them as kids we would go to the store and buy penny candy. But that has been way more than 28 yrs.
This is now the Pleasant Valley Shake Shop.
