Home Farm. I was born here. It was Dad's dairy farm (Pearl and Lucia Nicol). Had 4 brothers. We all worked on the farm. My brother Fred and his son, John now own and continue to operate the dairy.

Roger, not sure if you checked the box to be notified when new comments were made on this photo but we may be related; My grandmother was Hilda Nicol (one of seven sisters) and wonder if Pearl was a cousin of hers.(My last name is Asman and am also related to the Rousch's in Union County as well.) My father often refered to our family and the old German settlement in Union County.

The "old German settlement" -- are you referring to St. Johns Lutheran Church on St Rt 736? We are members there. Many of the members are Nicol, Rausch, Scheiderer, Blumenschein - who have been members there for years. I do not recall my folks talking about a "Hilda". I will have to do some checking on the Asman connection. Do you live in the Union County area?

Yes, all of those family names are very familiar to me and I have been to a few family reunions at that church! I do not live in Union County but my father (Don Asman) grew up in Marysville and moved to Greenville Ohio where I was born and raised. He moved back there the last few years of his life and I live in Beavercreek Ohio near Dayton.

My wife, Barb, is into geneology and shared this with me. Hilda was married to Alfred Conrad Asman. Alfred was 1899 to 1973. Hilda was the daughter of George Leonard Nicol (1880-1942). Don's mother was Carolina (Caroline) Rausch (1882-1951). Hilda C.L. Nicol (1904-1988). Hilda married Alfred Asman (1899-1973). Hilda and Alfred's children were Jeanne, Donald H., and Melvin Dale. Donald's wife is Ann Zimmer married in 1961. They had 4 children - Christopher R., Greg C., Cindy A, and Ronald G. Donald is buried in Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville. Jeanne married John Hennigh - they had a son Sam.
