My parents owned the house until last week. They bought it in 1978. It was part of the Layer estate then. It had been vacant for a while when they bought the home. They did add dormers to the back of the home and the 3 car garage too. There have been quite a few other renovations inside and outside the house. They recently sold the house to a young family who plan to continue upgrading the property but keeps the farmhouse charm.
