The Hueston restaurant, outside Mason, Oh.

The Houston Motel building was razed long ago, before`1994. The Houston Inn restaurant is still there.

The Houston Inn Restaurant closed in late 2020, a business victim of Covid 19.

Very sadly never re-opened after Covid 19. This is on U.S. 42 at Mason Morrow Millgrove Road. Houston Inn was famous for their incredible salad bar (50+ items) and they were reknowned for frogs legs among many specialties. Walking into the Houston Restaurant for a meal in 2019 was like walking into a time warp. The interior of the restaurant maintained its vintage circa 1950s decor through its entire existence. It sat directly across from the Kirkwood Inn Motel still in operation.

The cornfield behind the Houston Inn is today a park in Mason and has baseball fields on it which would rival Crosley Field in its heyday. At the very top left of the picture you can see a barn. It is today owned by Don Eberhard and lifelong Mason area resident. Mr. Eberhard raises many crops and has an "honor-system" farmers market at the end of his driveway.
