This the old High School and then Elementary School in Bellefonte. It is on E Bishop St. I live in a house right across from the stone staircase. It is now a low-income apartment building but looks almost the same. There are many bats in the belfry!!

I went to school there around 1949. I believe Kindergarten and 1st grade. My Mom walked me from E. Lamb St, no buses I do not believe it was ever a high school. There were two classes, one on each end in large single rooms. Kindergarten on one end and 1st the other end. I could be proved wrong. It is now an apartment complex.

I went to kindergarten and first grade there in 1958-59 and 1959-1960

I have early 1900s post cards showing this building as Bellefonte High School, as far as I can tell, the original location. A bigger high school building existed in the 1920s until at least the late 1930s, but not sure where. The building at N. Allegheny and Linn (now the elementary school) was Bellefonte High School when my cousins graduated in the late 1940s. The current high school on E. Bishop Street (apparently the 4th iteration) opened as "Bellefonte Area Joint Senior High School" in 1956.
