My father purchased this modest 80 acre farm after my father and mother were married in the 1940's. I was told the original farm house sat in front of the current house shown here. This house was built in the 1950's by my father. I still see some cars in the background. Near then end of his life he had started a small salvage yard to supplement the farm income. The younger of my two brothers now owns the property and two of his children have homes on part of the farm. The farm is a bit different today. The barn is gone. The milk house and the equipment building still stands. The corn cribs in the foreground are gone. The house now has a higher roof with addition of a dormer. But it still holds many fond memories from growing up here.
