The barn was built in 1850
This picture from the Sixties?
In 1971, Doris McHugh Borst purchased this house, barn and 6 frontage acres from the large farm parcel owned by the Richardsons. Children Julie, Jim and Sue Borst grew up here and participated in sports at Big Spring High School graduating 1976, '77 and '78. Julie was very active in the 4-H Sheep program and Lamb and Wool Queen for the state at the Farm Show 1976. Julie founded Tiara Kennels here in 1976 and when she moved, taking her Tiara Poodle showdogs to California in 1985, Doris, "Dee," a 1st grade teacher at Newville Elementary, added running the kennel in addition to her antique collectible business also on the property to her 1st grade teaching job.
Much later more land from this farm lot was sold to Pennsy Supply.
