17704 Barrens Rd. N, Stewartstown, PA....My wife and I now own this home and property. The fields and woods in the background are now housing developments, but all of the farm buildings shown remain. The land was originally owned by James Fulton, whose Estate sold it to William Nelson Zeigler, a Civil War veteran, in 1879. Zeigler built the house, barn, summer kitchen, and several other outbuildings which are now gone. George W. Trout bought the property in 1913. Trout died in 1925 and the property was sold to Andrew Duncan. Duncan died in 1954 and his nieces owned the farm until 1976. From 1976-1984 the property was owned by the Griffith family and the Bitten family owned it from 1984-2019. An 1876 Atlas of York County, PA shows James Fulton as the property owner and indicated a house existing here. Barn cornerstone is dated “1881”.
