Thomas L. and Kate Greenwell Culver home. Built by Tom and Kate 1948. Barns in right portion were disassembled, moved and reassembled, from Little Milligan area Carter County prior to Watauga Lake impoundment.
I was raised in this farmhouse from 1948 until I was around 20 (1966). For the most part my Father Tom Culver Jr. and Mother Kate Greenwell Culver built the house as Watauga Lake was being filled for the first time (1948). Relatives and friends helped.
I lived in this house from when it was built (1948) until I went off to college. It was a great place to grow up! It was situated on a hill overlooking two mountain ranges (Stone and Iron Mountains) in Upper East Tennessee.
