This is the old “Doc” Dr. John Rounsaville farm. I grew up next door. We moved there in 1975 and I would walk over and visit the sweet, elderly couple that took care of his farm, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks. She taught me to crochet. One day we came home from church and the old farm house had burned down, thankfully it was vacant. We were so sad. When Doc died, he said he didn’t want the land developed, but his family sold it and now his ranch is all concrete streets and big houses. Some of those barns were knocked down, but a few are standing. The farmhouse was never rebuilt. Most people don’t even know there ever was a gorgeous farm house there. My parents used to drink coffee and look out our windows at that farmhouse. We put up French doors just to be able to see it and eat breakfast. Lots of happy memories there. I still live next door.
