Robillard?
No, this farm was located 3.5 miles to the west of Robillard's on Rte 58 on the right hand side. Farmhouse is still there as of 2016.
Can anyone find our farm? Francis Davignon's place? Hunt Hill & Schoolhouse...there was a round barn opposite the house a long time ago....
What town Cathy?
Oh! Brownington, sorry.
Roll's 30-33 have a lot of Brownington
Thanks, I looked. But nothing matches up to me...I was hoping someone local would recognize it.
This was known as the Willey farm in my youth, about one mile west of the Irasburg/Lowell town line and the Bonneau farm that sat at the very summit of Route 58 with terrific views to the west from Belvidere Mountain to Jay Peak and beyond into Canada. The preceeding French Canadian family I belive was the Morin's that owned the farm later known as Willey's. It stands in my memory because one of the Morin sons was killed in action in WWII, about 1943, and my family as many in Lowell who knew them attended the funeral and the military service at St Ignatius Cemetery in Lowell. As a kid of 5 or 6 I still recall the taps and the firing of the rifle group and the handing of the flag to the grieving family. The barn burned many years ago but as stated above, the house still stands. Sadly, it is not actively farmed.
Here is this barn on the Round Barns List: http://www.dalejtravis.com/barn/vermo...
