Again the Toy Town cabins and motel on US Rt 2 outside of Montpelier VT.

My family stayed here about 1963. I left behind my two sons' good clothes, some antiques, and several very soiled baby diapers. On our return home in northern Quebec, Canada , lo and behold they arrived at our Post Office, with the diapers cleaned, and everything intact. I was so impressed with their honesty. I did send a cheque which I hoped would cover their expense. I wonder if that would happen today!

Sure do. My grandparents owned toy town cabins. I always had great memories of playing out by the picnic tables with my grandmother’s cocker spaniel. My brother and I used to go to the a&w and get rootbeer floats. I learned to drive my bra Mother’s 62 push button Plymouth right there.

The house I lived in until I was 10 (1965) was just out of the picture on the street that ended in the top left corner of the photo (Quesnel Dr). The street above that is Lague Dr, where I learned to ride a bicycle. Beyond the end of that street was where they were blasting to put in I-89. We used to scavenge through the dirt and rocks for bits of colored wire. I have great memories of playing outdoors with the neighborhood kids until dark in the summer.
When I was younger, my mother used to take me for walks in the woods behind the Toy Town cabins, where we would have picnic lunches and hunt for checkerberries and trailing arbutis. In the lower field is where I learned to ski, and in the higher field we picked lots of wild strawberries. When I was about 13 I worked for a season as a chambermaid at Toy Town cabins. I have so many fond memories of that time and area.
