My grandfather bought this mill in 1916.When he died in 1931, my dad ran it (he was 19 years old). When his brother graduated from high school, he joined in the business.There were 6 children in the family and my grandmother wasn't well.The brothers Samuel and RW Watkins ran the mill until it was sold in 1986 when they retired. I grew up playing and do chores around the mill. We also enjoyed the pond in every capacity. The family was broken hearted when it burned in 2009. I was happy my dad was not here to see it happen.
