This is the Richardson family home. Mary Richardson and her husband, Ralph, lived here with their three children. Mary was extremely active in the community. She used to serve me butter and honey sandwiches when I was a little girl. When I became an adult and married many years later, she gave me a honey jar, wooden honey dipper and butter dish as a wedding gift. Very sweet, thoughtful woman. The Richardsons also used to host float parties down the James River, since their large property fronted the river.
