The old Schroeder homestead, built in 1905 by my great grandparents, CC and Anna. It was mainly occupied by the family of my grandparents, William and Alice. My father Kenneth grew up there with his siblings Clifford, Quinton, Laverne, Arlene and Dwayne. Arnold died in an accident in the big barn at the right, at the age of 6. The family was very active in sports and the community, and was very well known. I have visited here often throughout my lifetime, and hold this property dearer in my heart than any other. Sadly, the buildings have been unoccupied for several years, and this magnificent home is slated to become a burn exercise by the local fire department in March of 2018.
