Hydroelectric power station at Dam 4 on the Potomac River upstream from Shepherdstown, WV. Operated by Potomac Edison. Uses hemp ropes about 3 inches in diameter to connect pulleys on turbines and power generators. Still in operation. On West Virginia side of river.
