I am pretty sure that at the time the photo was taken this property was owned by Henry Morrow and his wife. The property was purchased by my family around 1801 and included a large grist mill and two other homes. The area and mill was known as Billmyer's Mill and was operated and owned by my family until around 1900. It is located near the intersection of Billmyer's Road and Turner Road Northwest of Shepherdstown, Wv. At the time of the photo and still today I believe the barn is rented out as apartments. The mill has been gone for many years. My great great grandfather John Thornton Billmyer was born here and my grand father was one of the last Billmyer's to live here and work in the mill. He lived in one of the other Billmyer's Mill homes on the corner Northeast corner of the intersection of Billmyer's Road and Turner road. David Frank Billmyer was the last Billmer to own the property and sold the Mill properties to the Whiting Family and they continued to operate into the 1900's. The house shown and the mill which would have been across the road were located on Rocky Marsh Run.
