Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill

The original Holy Trinity Church was replaced by this "new" church in the 1970's. In the foreground, near the road, is the rectory (as I knew it in the early-to-mid 1960's), or the Sisters' Convent (previously, as I understand it). To the left was the Catholic School House. The car garage (to the left) was a school room until 1963 (Catholic School closed in 1962 and the public school system used it in 1962-63). I was a 1st grader in that school in 1962-63 and walked to this school from our home, the School Hill Farmers' Co-operative Cheese Factory. There were students in Grades 1-3 in that one-room schoolhouse, with our teacher, Miss Betty Boeldt. If you enter that garage today, the wainscoating is still there on the walls, painted the same green -- and the number line is still attached to the walls of that garage. The basement under the garage has a student bathroom ... and more. It was a wonderful place to start my schooling with other youngsters of School Hill!
