Happy to see the Herman & Velma Mason family farm again and still much the way I remember it from my youth. Sadly, the farm was split up and actually belongs to I believe 4 different owners now. The silo, barn, grainery and corn crib are all gone...as are most of the trees in front of the house. There is a large shed built to the right of the house on that side of the road. There is also now a driveway that comes off Hwy 33 to the right down past the end of where the barn stood. It leads to a new bridge that crosses Brush Creek and goes on to a house that was built about halfway up the hillside over there. Even Hwy 33 has experienced some changes from what it was back in that 1978 pic! So many changes...but nothing can alter my wonderful memories of a childhood spent roaming those hills and valleys every free moment that farm life presented, playing in the cold, spring-fed waters of Brush Creek, and letting my imagination take me to far away places that I had only thus far read about, but hoped to see for real one day! Seeing this pic takes me way farther back than 1978... What a blessing to see it as it was again....and an aerial view is quite the bonus!
