This is our home....and its terrible now. Its been destroyed inside and out by new owners and very sad to see. So many loving and beautiful memories.

My grandfather, Edward Thomas owned this land. He gave 11 acres to his daughter Sharon Branchfield and her husband Floyd Branchfield in 1972. In 1972 they hired WICK Homes of Wausau to build this home. When they moved in, they had 3 children, Barbara (9), Brenda (7) and Beverly (5). This was a 4 bedroom colonial and they painted each room a different color: pink, tan, green and yellow. I am Barbara Branchfield and my room was yellow. My parents had 3 more children while owning this home, Sherry, Jennifer and David Branchfield. Our grandfather lived down the side street on his own farm.

Not sure Barb if you are too young to remember how many times I biked over to that house! I thought nothing of getting on my bike and biking a few miles to get there. How sad I haven't been on my bike now for years lol that's too bad that it has been ruined in many ways.

I thought our house was built or finished in August 1973. In all of the home videos, Mom is pregnant with me, so Sherry was already born into this house. I'd like to remember the home for what it was...the "house that built me"...and when love of family was abound. Thankful for all the wonderful memories.

Jennifer was correct. It was finished in 1973 and Sherry was already born.

This will always be home to me

Me too Sher. Was that our vehicle in the driveway? You can see the sign on the house that read "Floyd and Sharon Branchfield." I wonder what was happening inside when this photo was taken.

I forgot to add my name to that last comment 😊

Hello everyone,
Thank you for sharing such great history about the property! Does anyone want to tell us either a favorite memory from the house or maybe your favorite place to play on the property?

I was 4 years old when this photo was taken. 😊 We had a swing set in the backyard along with a sandbox, so we were usually found playing there. There were 6 of us kids who were raised in this house...and it was a wonderful childhood. Loved running down the stairs on Christmas morning or having taco dinners with our grandparents. Lots of wonderful memories here. ❤️

I am the oldest of the children and the memories that the younger ones had are not the ones I had. There was also a tree tire swing in the left side that we twirled around on and swung on. There were raspberry and huckleberry bushes surrounding the property. At the base of the hill there is a huge green apple tree and a lilac tree. The rock in the driveway was dug up when the house was built. My dad owned the AW Restaurant in town. Soon after he divorced my mom
She had 6 kids under the age of 12. We then had nothing so those sweet memories are not really all that sweet. I moved my mother to Lacrosse where I was attending college so she could start over and now she passed in 2011.
