Dairy farm on Cloudbreak Rd that used to be owned by Esmond & Bonnie Hall. Their oldest daughter is a good friend of mine.

Remains of the Circle M Zoo, Meadows of Dan, VA. Owned by Shirley Mitchell. The building on the left was a gift shop & arcade. The structure perpendicular to the gift shop housed lions, a hyena, and porcupines. The large building held elephants, chimps, oryx, a wildebeest, various primates & a gharial.

Cockram Mill, Meadows of Dan, VA. This mill is on the National Register of Historic Places. Built around 1885. The Dan River Queen was a paddle-wheel steamer that would take tourist along the river. The river has since been drained & the Dan River Queen has sadly fallen into disrepair. There was a General Store that sold souvenirs, candy & products made at the mill. Herbert and Margaret Burge lived in the house & managed the store. My parents were good friends with Herbert & Margaret & my dad sometimes captained the riverboat.
