I really don't remember him telling any stories about him growing up on the farm. I know he was more interested in anything mechanical rather than the farm stuff. There is a couple cool stories about the farm. My great, great grandpa went to California to the gold fields with his best friend and his wife and they found gold. On the way back his best friend died and great grandpa wound up marrying his wife and with the gold bought more acreage for the farm. I don't know how many acres the original farm was and was homesteaded around the 1860's. The home farm is 80 acres. The other story is my great, great grandmother used feed the native american indians when they were passing through. My grandpa gave my dad land on the home farm and his house would be located just off to the right side of the photo. My grandpa passed in 1970 and the farm was sold in 1972 to Roy and Robert Butz and is still in their family and my dad is still on original Buckingham land 160 some odd years later.

This is the house I grew up in. My grandpa built the house in the 60s and my dad still lives there. Not much has changed other than the trees.

This was the Buckingham Brothers farm and later the Butz farm. My dad's house is the far right corner and he grew up in the next closest house while my grandpa's brother lived in the house in the upper center. Everything has changed. The big house is gone and replaced with another house. Alot of the out buildings are gone and barn is now red with a white roof instead of white with a green roof.
