Farm was torn down autumn 2020. Too bad. Was located on west side of Dilleys Road, 1/2 mile south of Wadsworth Road.

This was the Nels and Anna Rassmussen Farm. They farmed it from the early 1900s through their passing in the 1970s and two of their children, Norm and Charles continued to live there until about 2003 when the house was sold and torn down. There is a 2 story modern house ther now and the access to the driveway from Dilleys was closed. Prior to that in the early 1980s other portions of the farm were subdivided into Min Oaks Sub and the Barn was torn down. It was on what is now Sarah Drive. The House was located at present day Anna and Sarah Drive. Some of the Rasmussen's grandchildren settled in the subdivision in the 1980s and built homes and are still there today.

Patrick Tyrell the farm has been gone about 15 years now. I live there.

Hi Susan, What surprise to see somebody else is viewing these photos! The photo in question is indeed the former farmstead at 38420 N Dilleys. The buildings were torn down during the time the Dilleys/Wadsworth roundabout was under construction. The configuration of the barn, outbuildings, 2 silos, 2 corncribs, with the Tollway immediately to the west of the buildings, the configuration of the house, and the driveway entrance are identical to the Lake County Map Dept current & historic aerial photos. The Map Dept photos show the farmstead to which you refer, and I can see the similarity, but the photo we are discussing is the 38420 N Dilleys farm. I grew up in northern Kane County & found the photo of our family's farm. It shows our mother hanging the family laundry out to dry, three of my sisters with her, the family dog, the flock of muscovy ducks we were raising, etc. I ordered a copy of the photo & it's hanging on our wall. These photos are amazing, and I have no clue why such a project was undertaken. I ordered a photo of our neighbor's farm (on Dilleys Rd)& gave it to them as a present. They were "blown away" by it! vintage Aerial is an amazing site & I love looking at our area as it was over 50 years ago.

Patrick I live here and my husband his father subdivided the farm in the late 70s and 80s but left the farm house and 3 adjoining acres for our uncles. Our uncles lived in the house until the early 2000s, approximately 2003. At that time it was sold to the children of one of our neighbors so they could live near their parents. They built a beautiful home which was sold recently to another family. So the house and garage have been gone almost 20 years. The round about was finished last year 2020 so it is not that house. That is a about 2 or 3 miles North of this house. There is still a silo left from the farm that was at Wadsworth and Dilleys the site of the round about. But this is not that farm. I live on the farm that was subdivided and we built our home in 1987. My husband was a grand kid!

I see the circle drive matches Dilleys to Anna Drive exactly. notice it only goes out to Dilleys Road. This is not to be confused with the new roundabout which has 4 exits shown off the circle. There is 1 to North Dilleys Road, 1 to West Wadsworth Road, 1 to South Dilleys Road and 1 to East Wadsworth Road. If you look up Anna Drive Wadsworth Il you will see this exact circle which is comprised of Anna, Sarah, Charlotte and Aime Drives. Easy to confuse it if you are not a local.
