3440 Grand Ave, Gurnee. My father (Gus Petropoulos) and Uncle (Nick Petropoulos) owned Petropoulos Brothers for 55 years! My Dad and his brother Nick were pioneers in marketing and providing an amazing “customer experience”. The store not only served the home appliance needs of the community, but became a destination of events and celebration in the area. They sponsored turkey giveaways during Thanksgiving, prominent sports figures from the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears, and family fun events throughout the year. My Uncle had a huge sunflower field on the east side of this property in later years. Currently (2018) it is occupied by a thrift store.

I can not recall this photo.I do remember this, brothers, they saved alot of grief /turmoil.I called their shop the day before Thanksgiving.I used to go into Waukegan for my Percussion lessons every Thursday.Sometimes my dad liked there ?inventory?
He would take me in there .always so smart people. My father an engineer of 15 patents ,felt there was something wrong with are oven sent me a 16 year old boy to the Petropoulos Bros store.I was instructed how to fix it i did it. and every one ate Turkey that day thancks to the Petropoulos bros and my dad knowing the knew the business.oven is older than hell know ,can order another?still works weird message you come from good people .It is hard to see from good ,from hard ,and from driven and from, dishonest .I was a long way away from small business until I was reminded of your dad and uncle. They were both smart ,ahead and moral.Something to strive toward, please toward ytourself?

I worked at Petropolous Bros. for a short time after my second child was born. I remember you, Sofia, as a darling little girl around 3 years old. Your father adored you! Mr. Nick would make lunch for everyone on Saturdays (I believe) and Mr. Gus was always a kind gentleman.
