Old Doyle farm, the house was Doyle’s tavern in the 40s. Before that was owned by the mcarthys and before that the achen family. The house faces south because back in the day York house road went through to dilleys and there was no 41

many barn dances were held here including the first fundraiser for the newly formed newport township volunteer fire department around 1940. the barn there was built when skokie road was built about 1936. ive got plenty of stories about this place
