The Pig Hip Restaurant, a Phillips 66 gas station, and the Pioneer’s Rest Motel, a long-standing stop while traveling U.S. 66. Broadwell, Illinois. The house with the β€˜RESTAURANT’ sign, and the remains of the motel still stand. Sadly, the Pig Hip Restaurant closed, and became a museum, which burned in 2007. U.S. 66 is the
4-lane highway. The motel, gas station, and Pig Hip were located along the Frontage Road. West Oak Street is seen at the top of the picture, with West Pine Street at the bottom. View looks S/SW.
