This was Stephenson County's "other" Centennial School (a school at the southeast corner of Cedarville Road and Farwell Bridge Road shared the same name). This school operated into the 1950s. The John Drury aerial pictorial "This is Stephenson County" (1955) includes a photo of the school building and indicated that it was discontinued in 1954. The Freeport Journal-Standard reported in September 1956 that voters would decide whether to sell the school building (the voters agreed by a wide margin). The building was sold at auction on October 20, 1956.
