This was the site of Lancaster School, at the southwest corner of Dakota Road and Brick School Road. The school building burned on April 11, 1977 (Freeport Journal-Standard, 4/12/1977). In this photo the building would have been situated near the lower right corner. The school operated through the 1948-49 school year, when it was part of the Dakota 201 school district.
