That looks like the Standard at Western and Exchange St. The last full-service gas station my mom ever used. On the west side of that intersection was the White Hen pantry.

Crete Service Center, and Phillips 66 gas station, 1350 Dixie Highway, Illinois State Route 1, Crete, Illinois. View looks south. Exchange is the east-west cross street.
