The Major family still owns the farm. Sadly, the barn, corn crib and shop have fallen. However, my sister lives in the family home and because of her it is beautifully maintained.

It will soon be three years since my sister Kathleen left the earlier comment. Our sister Gretchen continues to live in and maintain the home place built in 1873.

Our great, great grandfather, Ben Major, came with his family from Kentucky in 1834 to settle this land.
