This was my great grandparents and later grandparents home. We moved into the house in 1990. In the summer of 1991 a second story was added to the house. and the old corn crib was torn down. On the night of 6/18/2021 one of the 2 large oak trees seen in this picture fell on the back half of the house, sparking a fire which completely destroyed the home. Both trees are now gone and there is an empty lot where the house stood. New house contruction will begin in the spring of 2022
This was Cecil Maurer's farm (my wife's grandfather). We moved in 31 years ago. A metal pole barn now sits on the concrete slab and the corncrib was torn down. We added a 2nd story (4 bedrooms, a bathroom and a playroom). One of the big oak trees blew over in a storm (June 18, of this year) and started a fire. The house burnt to the ground. We are rebuilding on the same spot. Building should begin in March of 2022.
