Barns no longer stand; modern farm buildings stand behind the house now.

Research into local records and historic atlases indicates that this was the farm of Jane Gentry Tharp Spicklemire (1834-1921) and her two husbands William Tharp (1834-1871) and Greenville Spicklemire (1825-1893). The style of the house points to a build date of between 1860 and 1875.
