Tax records indicate this was the home of Earl M. Costin (1872-1945) and Dorothy Lyons Costin Herriman (1902-1982). Later known as the Herriman Estate when Dorothy remarried Claude Herriman (1900-1977).

The house and 667 acres were bought in 1972 for the development of Prestwick. Today the house is the clubhouse for Prestwick Country Club.
