Coty Farms Originally owned by Avie & Mary Coty.

This farm (240 acres) was purchased back in 1894 by Great Grandpa Charles Thibault from Illinois. Charles's daughter, Lucinda (Lucy) Mary Thibault Coty, inherited the 240 acres. When Grandma Coty passed in the 1940s, her sons, Avie and Lionel Coty inherited 120 acres each. Avie purchased 80 acres of Lionel's 120, totally the 160 acres as seen in this photo. When Avie passed in 1997, Charles (Avie's oldest son) took ownership of the 160 acres and continues to plant corn and beans. Avie and his parent raised jersey cattle and sold milk for a living during the time of the photo.
