This is my house, bought in 2004 from the Verdeck family estate, my wife is a granddaughter of Ray and Barb Verdeck.

The house was built in 1972 by my parents, Ray and Barb Verdeck. Dad purchased the farm from his parents. When they started tearing the old house down, they found a log cabin in the walls. You can see it still standing to the right of the house in this photograph. We learned that, occasionally, people would just build the new house around an old cabin. It stood for a number of years until finally dad took it down where it was replaced with mom's flower garden. There were honey bees in the walls of the old house. When the west wall came down, the bees swarmed and got caught in my hair, stinging me as I ran around screaming. My dad grabbed me, smashed the bees with his hands and then ran my head under the freezing cold water from a hydrant. Needless to say, I had a hell of a headache that night. We moved to this place when I was 12 and I have many, many memories of my life there.
