The former location of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church along side the Chaplin River in Tatum Springs, Kentucky. My grandmother, Deverl Burns, was a life-long member there. My parents, Allen and Julia Thompson, were married there in 1969, and I was baptized in the river just to the right of the old iron bridge.

This was our family home, the parsonage at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, in Tatham Springs, Ky., from 1963 to 1972 while my father, Oliver Hawkins, was pastor there. My one week old baby brother had his first ride in a boat as this house flooded in March of 1964. The Chaplin River flooded both the house and the church, yet all buildings survived for many years.
