Former Barker mill,now private appartments

Barker Mill, at the time of the photo, 143 Mill Street, Auburn, situated on the banks of the Little Androscoggin River. Built in 1873, it is one of few in the state with a mansard roof and has a higher level of styling than other mill buildings of the period. Barker Mill produced shirting, sheeting and other woven textiles. It was converted to affordable housing in 1979 and is now known as Barker Mill Arms.
