Max and Nancy Smiths house. Till the Hewitt boys started living there. I think they got rid of the house just a few years ago and the other buildings are all gone as well.

Definitely home of Harvey and Nancy (Doak) Smith. They were my mother's Aunt and Uncle. Visited many times over the 1950's and early 1960's.

The small building to the right of the garage is where Harvey would repair cedar wooden barrels for farmers. As a young boy around 7-8 I remember going there on Saturdays and watching him make them like new. Nancy made the best cookies too. In later years Max trapped and would dry the pelts in the same building. We lived nearby and have fond memories.

Absolutely agree with the cookie issue. Never paid attention to what Harvey did but should have I guess.
