Ken Irving House Washburn Road
My father Kenneth Peary was a farmer and potato inspector. He was roghing (walking in the potato field here in 1957 when he looked to the west and saw smoke. about where our house was. He headed for his car and Mrs Irving told Dad it was our house that was afire.
Befor Ken Irving owned this farm it was owned by my great grandfather Blackstone. My grandmother Mabel Blackstone married my grandfather Lorenzo Dow Hobbs Jr. in Caribou. The hobbs's built wagons and windmills. There is an early picture of the house in the upstairs of the garage at the Washburn Museum which shows a windmill with the house before other buildings were built.
