Emanuel Dufour's Market

St. David.

The house at the far left was demolished and the house in the middle in the foreground was also demolished.

My husband Gerald Dufour, and his siblings lived in this house, along with their mom and dad. They had a conveince store, which the Mom minded while the dad was farming. Later on in years, Gerald bought and took over the business and dad worked in the store for some years. The little house to the left of the bigger house Gerald bought and had rents in it for a while. When it needed too much renovations, he dicided to demolish it and use it for a parking lot. The house in the back right also had tenents in it, which that too when it got to need too much work to fix, it too was demolished. We so.d the store to the present owners, Maurice and Norma Morin in the year 2003, when my husband was diagnosed with cancer, and we spent almost 3 months in Boston for his many treatments. Matter of fact, the sale was done over the phone. It was named Dufour's Market, then changed to Morin's Variety Store, the present owners. They have expanded, and added a little restaurant to the store. This photo has certainly brought us both down memory lane...

My dad Gilbert Michaud helped Gerald during the hunting season cutting deer meat. It was a pastime for him after he retired which he enjoyed.
