Corner of Main Street (foreground, center) and Causeway Road (a bit hidden at the right), China, ME. Pictured (L to R) is 50 Main Street (Mason Central Lodge #45), 54 Main (center right), and 57 Main (bottom right - no longer extant).
The building at 50 Main Street was either demolished or rebuilt one story lower sometime in the 1980s or 1990s, but still occupies the same space. Most of the area with cars parked in front has been paved, and the trees at the right have been removed and a paved drive extends to parking behind the building. In the 1980s a new home would be built just to the left of this, near where the stand of trees is in this photo.
54 Main has seen some changes, but still looks very similar. The overall shape and stature of the home are similar, and the porches still stand. The small shed to the left of the home was eventually replaced with a two-bay garage, and new trees were planted around the corner roadside.
57 Main Street was demolished or burned sometime prior to the 2010s. No remnants.
