This was the Gay Farm on Route 1 in Saco, Maine. My paternal grandmother's cousin Merritt Gay was born and raised here, and my father, who lives on a nearby farm in the Flag Pond Rd, housed heifers in the barn and hayed the fields. When Merritt drowned in the late 1980s, my father, Jim Leary, inherited the property. The land runs all the way back to the Maine Turnpike. All the outbuildings have been torn down. My sister, Joyce Leary, married Ed Clark out behind the barn in July 1995.

I grew up in this house from early to mid 70's until my brother passed away in 1982.

Jim - I remember your family. I babysat a few times! Didn't your father run the gas station at the corner of Route 1 and Flag Pond Road?

I grew up on this farm from Nov 1974 to April 1982. Mr. Gay was a wonderful man who was part of our family. I have so many great memories of him on this farm.

Janet yes our parents had the Amoco gas station on the corner. I remember going to your parents farm with Mr. Gay on the weekends to get milk.
