this is York street (route 1) Kennebunk. not Portland road.

C. 1965, Wallingford Hall, York Street, Kennebunk. Owned by the Flayderman family who sold antique guns and antiques. The home fell in to ruins and was saved in 1995 by Charles Godfrey. Only partialy restored. Built 1804 for George Wallingford Sr. who was instrumental in helping to get statehood for Maine and local town leader. His father, Samuel, died in the Revolution while fighting with John Paul Jones. Wallingford was a lawyer, married twiced, died in 1824 when his youngest was only 2 years old.
