This is where I grew up. Not much has changed. The barn is no longer there due to high winds that blew it over. The old out house is gone. The field to the right of the lane is now a wooded area. My father Walter Munroe Perdue was born in that house. so many fond memories I wouldn't give up for the world. There was 10 of us children that grew up there. We had no indoor plumbing for alot of years. We had to heat water on the stove. My father had a work horse to plow the fields. We made our own butter. My mother was a wonder cook and baker. We had lot of homemade bread and goodies. We had a big garden. I wasn't fond of doing the weeding! We didn't have it easy but we learned to appreciate what we had and not to take things for granted. i thank God for having me grow up the way I did.
