One of L. Arther Elliott farms. SW corner of Goodall and Vernon roads. Used to put hay in the big barn. Dad n grampa saved some lumber out of it before the fire department burned it for practice, around 1980.

We moved into this farm house in Spring 1983 with My husband Bill Cromwell, myself Carolyn Michael Peake Cromwell, with Christopher Peake, Julie Cromwell and Bill's Children Carolynn, William Jr and Jean Ann called this home every other weekend. Jenny Cromwell was born in November, 1983. We made our life in this home with Six acres and lots of random kids coming and going during our time there till 2008.
I was able to get a copy of the title when the cabin and property were first built on this land. The cabin had hugh 1/2 tree trunks for the flooring and a rock walled basement.
Later when the house was built on the same place as the cabin, the floor remained in place for the house to be built. The original house was built in construction style of post and beams. The windows were brought in by oxen and wagon from Indiana or Illinois. I also did reaserch on some of the older homes in that same area. Lytle Road was an old indian trail going from the town of Lennon and all the way to M-71. During that we had some ariel photos taken and made into Large portrates that we left with the farmhouse. We upgraded the electricity, put in new windows, A Michigan sun room, a enclosed side pourch, enclosed the front pourch in glass. Built on a Master suite with a private bath off the kitchen main floor, and put in a Full bath with a shower and a jaccuzi full tub and all new cubboards and sink and toilet. We turned the old bath into a half bath with washer and dryer accesories and a wash tub sink.
We also put siding and doors on the small barn at the end of the drive way. We left hoping the next family would love it as much as we did.
