This house was part of the farm for which my Great, Great Grandfather (Dr. John Riker) traded a building in Pontiac. He had 4 sons and a daughter, and believed that it was good health wise to get out of the city for the summers. The barn is no longer standing, but the silo is. My great grandfather, Dahue Riker, told us this is the oldest tile silo in Washtenaw County.
There are also tales that the home shown was part of the Underground Railroad. Descendants still live on several acres next to this home, and on nearby Riker Lake.
